CY Partners Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with UK NEQAS a World Leader in Cellular Pathology EQA and Proficiency Testing with their search for a Scheme Manager (Cellular Pathology).

The Scheme Manager will undertake a broad role to encompass overseeing the day to day and long-term management, performance, development, and delivery of the operational and commercial aspects of the Service.

Reporting to the Scheme Director, in this key role you will:

  • Lead and manage the technical team to ensure UK NEQAS CPT attain all relevant local and national targets and standards, working within the appropriate governance, safety, quality, risk, and regulatory framework.
  • Manage day-to-day operations to ensure all services provided by UK NEQAS CPT in the UK and overseas are delivered effectively to all users and service users and according to a predetermined timetable of events.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and main point of contact for cellular pathology diagnostics, guiding R&D projects, providing expertise and answering technical enquiries
  • Lead delivery of a co-ordinated programme of service user education which will involve webinars, practical workshops and the production of scientific papers and presentations at national and international scientific meetings.
  • Promote good laboratory practice and follow internal and external quality regulations including UKAS / ISO standards
  • Carry out commercial duties such as attending conferences and networking events in addition to assisting with marketing
  • Maintain and develop the Tissue Inventory and associated documentation from UK NEQAS CPT suppliers in conjunction with the Quality Manager and admin team.
The successful Scheme Manager (Cellular Pathology) will have the following skills and experience:
  • Advanced theoretical knowledge, highly developed laboratory skills and a working knowledge of Cellular Pathology techniques
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Understanding of clinical governance and clinical auditing, including knowledge of the basics of the Human Tissue Act, Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act
  • Knowledge of quality and health & safety issues in cellular pathology including auditing, EQA & IQC
  • A minimum of an MSc in Biomedical Sciences or a relevant biological subject.
  • Strong communication and networking skills
