Job Description

School Administrator (level 4)

Job Purpose



The post holder will support the planning and development of the school/academy administration and finance support services. This includes reporting on data and financial information and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.

Main Duties



Contribute to the planning, development and organisation of administrative and financial support service systems, procedures and policies to ensure they are in line with legislation and quality standards.

Provide advice and guidance to support colleagues, pupils and their carers by resolving complex issues and providing requested information to ensure service standards are maintained.

Undertake a range of financial administration some of which will be complex, ensuring adherence to school/academy financial regulations

Support budget holders with planning, monitoring and evaluating budgets to ensure that funds are allocated appropriately

Analyse and investigate financial information in order to produce detailed reports and financial statements as required.

Assist with procurement and sponsorship

Manage complex information systems to analyse and investigate information in order to produce detailed reports and financial statements to inform senior management decisions

Organise meetings and events including travel for senior colleagues to ensure events run smoothly and time is used efficiently

Liaise with Trustees on behalf of the Headteacher in order to provide a timely and appropriate response

Provide advice to Senior Leadership in relation to legislative & regulatory changes relevant to own role, in order to ensure compliance

Be responsible for taking meeting minutes for internal and external meetings to ensure correct meeting records are kept.

Monitor and manage stock within an agreed budget, cataloguing resources and undertaking audits as required ensuring availability of resources to colleagues.

Manage administration of facilities including letting of school premises to ensure best use of school/academy and maximise revenue.

Monitor the work environment to ensure it meets health and safety requirements and the correct equipment is being used. Report risks when necessary.

Responsibilities



Financial Management



Undertake delegated financial administration, ensuring adherence to school/academy financial regulations

Keep up to date with financial regulations and advise Headteacher and Governors on implications for school / academy

Report to the Headteacher/Principal or Chair of the Governing Board any financial risks identified e.g. cash not secured, potential theft or impropriety

People Management



No direct reports but will be required to provide guidance to team members and co-ordinate work with team members to ensure effective team working

Relationship Management



Develop constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies/professionals

Safeguarding



The jobholder must observe their obligations in accordance with the School's / Academy's Child Protection Procedure and the document 'Keeping Children Safe in Education: Information for all school and college staff', and to report any concerns that they may have regarding a child or young person's welfare to the appropriate person. Copies of the above Procedure and document can be obtained from Misterton Learning Centre Shared Drive.

Pay: 23,000.00-27,000.00 per year
