Important Details:



Contract:

Permanent, Term Time Only.

Salary:

Grade 5, Scale Point 13-19, 29,064 - 32,061 pro rata (actual Pay 24,340.90 - 27,478.20 per annum).

Working Pattern:

Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week,

flexible working considered.

Start Date:

6th January 2026.

Pension:

Greater Manchester Pension Fund with employer contributions of 17.2%.

Location:

Parrs Wood Road, Didsbury, M20 6BX.

Duties of the School Attendance/Family Liaison Officer:



You will work proactively to:

Monitor and analyse pupil attendance data to identify patterns and concerns. Support pupils and families at risk of persistent absence. Lead attendance initiatives, campaigns and home visits. Prepare documentation for legal sanctions and court proceedings. Build strong relationships with families and external agencies. Champion the school's attendance policies and procedures.

The School Attendance/Family Liaison Officer:



Have experience working with children, young people and families. Hold a full, clean UK driving licence and have access to their own transport. Be confident in using data to inform decisions. Be able to work independently and manage a caseload. Have excellent communication and IT skills. Be resilient, empathetic and solution-focused. Be willing to undertake lone and joint home visits. Be committed to safeguarding and inclusive education.

Advantages but not essential:



Experience delivering parenting or support programmes. Willingness to present prosecution cases in court. Experience of training or group facilitation.
