We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic outstanding School Business Manager to join our popular, vibrant and culturally diverse school in inner-city Nottingham. We have an excellent staff, supportive parents and wonderful children.
As a School Business Manager, you shall be required to oversee the running off all support functions within the school
Key responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for running annual school budgets and forecasts
  • Oversee the submission of monthly VAT returns and reconciliations
  • To prioritise payments and to manage weekly reporting to the Headteacher, invoices and orders to be signed off and approved
  • To prepare any changes to payroll and communicate these to the payroll provider in a timely fashion to meet payroll deadlines
  • To oversee the procurement process
  • providing regularly reports and updates for senior staff and governors on the status of the budget
  • Ensure school complies with all financial controls and establish best value
In addition, you will have:
  • Good experience of financial management and budgetary planning and control
  • Excellent working knowledge of Arbor and school funding systems
  • Knowledge of human resources management and payroll procedures
  • An ability to identify, research, develop, cost and implement new initiatives
  • Experience of IT & knowledge of accounting software used in schools
  • Confidence to use Microsoft Office software
  • The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and personnel skills
The School itself can offer a wide range of benefits and advantages including; a dedicated staff, experienced admin staff, use of external financial company for budget and payroll, a proactive and supportive governing body and opportunities to develop your skills and talents. The school is ideally looking for a full time post but would consider 4 days a week post if applicants are looking for part time hours.
