We are seeking a dedicated and reliable job share Caretaker to join our team. Working hours 1.00pm until 6.00pm.The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for children, parents and staff. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Duties
Taking pride in the appearance of the school & nursery inside and out.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify areas that require maintenance or repair.
Carry out minor maintenance repairs/handyperson duties across the site.
Ensure all equipment is well maintained and stored safely and securely.
Assist in setting up facilities for events as required.
Provide janitorial support when required.
Assist in the inventory of cleaning/maintenance supplies.
Porterage of supplies/deliveries that are made to the school & nursery and the movement of items around the site.
Working with and in co-operation with cleaning company employed by the school.
Advise contractors on site of school health and safety procedures when carrying out work, together with the completion of the appropriate paperwork.
Assist in the management of waste disposal and recycling efforts in accordance with environmental guidelines.
Ensure that school & nursery walkways and designated play areas are clear of snow and icy patches in inclement weather.
Any other duties of a similar nature related to the post, which may be required from time to time.
Skills
Proven experience in a school caretaking role is highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
