Secondary school in Merton looking for a Premises Assistant! Immediate Start!

I am working with a large secondary school in Merton who are seeking a dedicated School Caretaker/Premises Assistant to join their team at a dynamic, Ofsted-rated \'Good\' school.

Role and hours: School Caretaker/Premises Assistant Location: Ofsted-rated \'Good\' Secondary School in Merton Contract: Temp to Permanent Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm

As a School Caretaker/Premises Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the school\'s facilities and grounds, ensuring they are safe, clean, and ready for the students and staff. Your responsibilities will include general maintenance, minor repairs, ensuring security measures are in place, and managing the day-to-day running of the premises.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting routine inspections of the school premises to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
• Undertaking minor repairs and liaising with contractors for more extensive repairs when needed.
• Ensuring the school is compliant with health and safety regulations.
• Assisting with setting up rooms for events, examinations, and other school activities.
• Managing stock levels for cleaning supplies and reporting maintenance needs to the school management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar caretaker or premises assistant role is advantageous but not mandatory.
• A proactive and responsible approach to tasks, with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour.
