School Catering Assistant
Job Description
Ideal School Meals supply a range of catering services to primary schools in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to assist with school meal production and all associated kitchen tasks, including meal preparation, packing away deliveries, meal service, washing up, and delivering to schools during periods of high demand and/or in the case of staff absences.
This position is school term time only.
Are you our Ideal candidate?
You have a passion for food and people and hold existing hospitality and/or catering experience.
You have a good understanding of the importance of food hygiene and take pride in a clean and tidy work environment.
You have good written English and numeracy skills.
You have a friendly and approachable manner and fantastic customer service skills.
NVQ Level 2 in professional cookery or equivalent would be preferred. Food hygiene Level 2 or some experience in catering is essential. Full training on our internal food safety management systems and cooking methods will be provided.
The position is for 3 hours per day and applicants should be flexible during school hours.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The position is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure and two employment references.

Pay: 12.21 per hour
