Job Description

This is a term time position with an additional 4 weeks to be worked during the school holidays as arranged between yourself and your line manager. Which means you will work 43 weeks of the year and take most of the school holidays off.

The annual payment is pro rata to 22,806 which is divided into 12 equal payments to which you will receive. We are looking for a strong leader who can supervise our cleaning team, help maintain our high expectation of cleaning standards and bring new ideas to the table to encourage our 'clean and green' environment for our pupils.

Please note that a 1,200.00 per annum has been added to the salary for accepting urgent phone calls outside of working hours if necessary.

What is the role?



Headlands School is a independent day and residential school that provides high quality education and care to children and young people aged 7 to 19 who have experienced early development trauma and those young people with a diagnosis of autistic spectrum conditions.

The school operates across 8 Education buildings and 5 residential houses.

As a School Cleaning Supervisor you will be responsible for supervising a team of 4 cleaners who work across our school and residential homes, in addition to ordering stock and PPE for our staff.

The School Cleaning Supervisor will be expected to support the cleaning team, by providing supply of stock. Supply of data control sheets, along with creating COSHH Risk Assessments for each cleaning product used.

The School Cleaning Supervisor will support the team with their daily tasks when required by cleaning some of the building each day.

The role will be working 37 hours a week, the following shifts schedule:

Monday to Thursday 6:30 - 15:00

Fridays 6:30 - 14:30 (43 weeks of the year)

How will you make a difference?



Supervising our happy, efficient cleaning team who support around 70 young people and 117 staff members during term time.

By being responsible for checking and maintaining the quality of cleanliness in all buildings that are being cleaned.

By coordinating and planning rotas and workloads in line with senior manager

By attending meetings and liaising with stake holders (both internal and external)

What will you need?



A minimum of 2 years experience of leading a team Knowledge of COSHH A flexible approach with the ability to problem solve The ability to work as part of a team Good IT skills A willingness to undertake all required training, including Behaviour Management Training to understanding of the issues faced by our pupils and the willingness to help support them.
