Job Description

King Edwin Primary School and Barndale by the Sea specialist provision are looking for a reliable and friendly school cook to work in our newly refurbished kitchen, providing meals for both schools.

The successful candidate will work alongside a small team of experienced catering assistants to help ensure that meal times run smoothly and the children receive delicious, well-balanced meals to help them through the school day.

The contract is a permanent variable hours contract with MIN30-MAX35 hrs per week, initially starting at 32.5 hours per week. Term Time plus 3 days.

Experience of working in a catering environment is preferred, however full training will be provided.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:

Operational control of the kitchen. Preparation, cooking and service of food and beverages, accommodating any special dietary requirements and following agreed menus. General kitchen duties, including washing up, cleaning equipment, cupboards, surfaces etc. Clearing the dining area and other service points after meal times, ensuring a high standard of hygiene is achieved. Placing orders, receipt and safe storage of goods, stock control, stocktaking and completion of monitoring sheets reporting any discrepancies to the immediate line manager. Ensuring any necessary documentation is completed in line with policy and procedure. Supporting special events as and when required.

Pay: From 1,650.17 per month
