We are looking for people who would like to join Winterslow Pre-School Holiday Club to help provide an exciting range of activities during Wiltshire school holiday periods. If you are enthusiastic about supporting the growth of young children, this might be ideal for you. We need staff to provide inclusive and engaging activities that are full of fun and inspire the children to explore their interests both indoors and outdoors.
You would be delivering a range of activities that are sometimes associated with a theme for the week. This could include art and crafts, storytelling, singing, dancing and possibly other musical activities. Group games, woodland walks and a range of other physical activities will also be planned that help the children to get outdoors, explore and have fun.
The positions would be suitable for sixth form students as well as more experienced people or someone working in primary/nursery education e.g. Teaching/Nursery Assistant, looking for additional hours during school holidays. You will be supported by an enthusiastic group of staff who put flexibility and hard work at the centre of what they do.
Main responsibilities:
To deliver programmed activities that are engaging, fun and that provide purposeful experiences for the children within stimulating environments.
To help set up the play areas for activities, rotate and clean resources and ensure a range of toys and games are available and ready for use.
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child throughout the day.
To follow the pre-school protocols and policies, for example, undertake Health & Safety checks as needed during the day.
To communicate professionally with the children, with other team members and with parents/carers.
To provide for the daily needs of the children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development.
To administer basic first aid when necessary.
To report any safeguarding or child protection concerns to the Holiday Club Supervisor.

Requirements and skills:

Desirable
First Aid qualification.
Some experience of working with children between the ages of 3 and 9 years.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years education.

Helpful
Be prepared to understand some of the requirements of the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Be passionate about the importance of play and child engagement in a range of activities.
Be reliable, flexible in your approach with clear communication styles and an ability to work well in a team.
