Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic school. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a busy restaurant environment and develop culinary and hospitality skills. Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or the hospitality industry is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation tasks to support the kitchen team Ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas in accordance with health and safety standards Support the organisation of kitchen supplies and stock management Assist with dishwashing duties during busy service periods Follow all hygiene and safety procedures diligently to uphold high standards of cleanliness Support the team with general kitchen duties as required to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or working within a restaurant or hotel environment is desirable but not essential Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards is advantageous Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Willingness to learn new skills and contribute positively to team efforts Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards guests and colleagues
