Do you love books and enjoy working with children?

Dorset Reading Partners

is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to inspire young children and help them develop their reading skills.

What's the role?



Volunteer for just 2 hours a week during term time (one school year commitment). Work 1:1 with the same four children each week, supporting them with reading, talking, and playing literacy games. Help boost children's confidence, motivation, and literacy skills.

What do you need?



A love for books and a passion for helping children. Strong literacy skills and an enthusiastic, approachable manner. No prior experience required--just a willingness to learn and support children in their reading journey.

All volunteers will undergo an interview and enhanced DBS check, and will need to provide references before attending our initial day-long training course.
