Job Title: Part-Time School Office Administrator
Location: Wellbrook School, Hatton, Derby
Hours: Part-Time (2 days per week), 8:00am - 16:00pm
Salary: 21,000 FTE - 8,500 per annum take home - this will be based on 2 days per week, 40 weeks of the year (term-time only + 1 week)
Contract Type: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a passionate and experienced School Office Administrator to join our dedicated team on a part-time basis.

Role Overview

The School Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the efficient day-to-day operations of the school. Working closely with the Headteacher and staff, the administrator ensures the smooth running of administrative functions while contributing to the overall success of the school. Key Responsibilities

Act as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and phone/email enquiries. Support day-to-day school operations, including admissions, attendance records, data management, and correspondence. Provide general administrative support such as organising school trips, managing the school calendar, maintaining files, and updating the website. Handle finance-related tasks including recording payments (e.g. trips, uniform), issuing receipts, and ensuring cash security. Assist with communication across the school community, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism. Support the Headteacher and staff with scheduling, meeting minutes, and reports. Contribute to a welcoming, organised, and inclusive school environment.

What We're Looking For:



Strong literacy, numeracy, organisational and IT skills (Microsoft Office essential). Previous admin experience, ideally in a school or similar setting. Ability to handle confidential information, manage data, and deal with financial tasks such as handling payments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with staff, parents, and visitors. Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise workload under pressure. Professional, resilient, and committed to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of children and young people.
Desirable: experience with school systems, data analysis, health & safety, and supporting SEND.
