We're looking for a
SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) School Support Assistant
to join a specialist setting that supports children and young people with additional behavioural and emotional needs. This is a
full-time role
, starting on a
temporary basis
with the potential to become
permanent
for the right person.
About the Role:
Support children in a small class settings or on a 1:1 basis
Help students navigate daily routines, learning, and emotional regulation
Work alongside experienced teachers and therapists
Use structure, boundaries, and routine to support progress
Be a consistent, calm role model in challenging situations
Ideal Experience (but not essential):
We welcome candidates with experience in:
SEMH, PRUs or alternative provision
Behavioural support roles
Youth work or pastoral support
SEN Teaching Assistant roles
Residential childcare or supported living
We're also keen to hear from people with
transferable skills
from roles such as:
Support Worker / Care Assistant
Youth Mentor / Youth Worker
Sports Coach
Mental Health Support Roles
Military or Emergency Services
Health & Social Care
Teaching / Nursery Assistant
? Must-Have:
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- essential due to school location and off-site activities
