Our commitment to EDI

Our core commitment to diversity, inclusion and a sustainable future truly values the diversity of our students and staff, creating an inclusive environment where everyone's identities and talents are valued and respected.? We welcome applications from all areas of the community and particularly encourage applications from people from ethnic minority backgrounds and people who are disabled, who are currently underrepresented in our workforce.

About the role

We are seeking a Schools Liaison Officer to join our busy Brand, Marketing and Future Students team. This role is based in a dedicated Schools Liaison team within the Future Students section of the department, where you'll work alongside teammates and with colleagues across the University on delivery of the AUB's Schools Strategy.

The Schools Strategy sets out how the University plans and prioritises all Schools work and is the strategic underpinning for the work of the Future Students Team - it is where recruitment begins, and prospect pipelines support the core AUB offer at FE and UG Level. This work is particularly important at a time when, in many schools, STEM subjects are being prioritised over arts subjects, creative education is becoming marginalised and the number of applicants wishing to study creative subjects beyond school are diminishing.

The Schools Liaison Officer will be responsible for building relationships with key feeder and target schools and colleges identified in the Schools Strategy, delivering a range of outreach work including events, presentations, fairs and workshops to prospective students, parents, teachers and careers advisors. The post holder will also work with the Design and Digital Marketing teams to develop digital and printed materials for key Schools and Colleges.

This role will also work closely with the Access and Participation Team to support delivery of AUB's Access and Participation Plan, specifically around the recruitment of disadvantaged groups.

The post holder will not just be an advocate for AUB, but an advocate for creative education. The successful candidate will have excellent public speaking and presentation skills and ideally hold a degree or be able to demonstrate relevant experience. We also require all candidates to have a full clean UK driving licence as the role will require regular travel within the UK, predominately within the South and occasionally further afield.

This position involves working with children (under-18s) / vulnerable people and therefore requires compliance with the University's Safeguarding Policies, including the requirement for enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance prior to the commencement of employment.? The University is committed to stringent Safeguarding practices, including in its practices around the recruitment and selection of staff, to positions which involve working with children and/or vulnerable people.? The successful candidate will be required to complete AUB approved Safeguarding Training.

Our benefits

In meeting your performance expectations, each year you'll have a salary increase in line with the grade of your role. ?As well as this there is an annual cost of living increase. ?AUB provides generous holiday entitlement, and you will be enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme (professional services staff) or the Teachers' Pension Scheme (academic staff) from day one of employment.? Along with subsidised bus travel, cycle to work and annual savings schemes, our broad range of benefits can be explored on the AUB careers website

AUB has an agile working policy, and flexible working can be considered.? If you require support with your application or have any questions about the role or recruitment process, please email recruitment@aub.ac.uk . If you are disabled, we are committed to supporting you with any reasonable adjustments you require, so please email recruitment@aub.ac.uk and we'll be in touch.?
