WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Business area introduction

The role sits within the Banking Coverage team within Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) in the UK.

The Banking team\xe2\x80\x99s main objective is to manage and support the bank\xe2\x80\x99s SCIB client base in connection with all Santander banking products.

Role Specifics

The Banking Team is a high performing, integrated team where you will gain experience by performing a wide range of tasks, and gain to different client sectors and countries; giving you continuous learning and development opportunities.

As an Analyst of Banking Team, you will be responsible for supporting the Associates, VPs and MDs in the team in preparing Business Plans, helping and coordinating CMS in carrying out KYC processes, preparing credit committee papers, arranging meetings with clients, preparing client materials & business opportunities analysis, as well as internal analyses of clients and income earned against budget. You will also help the Banking Team with internal tasks as and when requested.

  • Pipeline management
  • PIB / client pack creation
  • Client meetings
  • General applications for facilities \xe2\x80\x93 e.g. credit papers, CTF papers etc.
  • Other general responsibilities
Please note this is a 6 month fixed term contract.

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for
  • A Degree (or equivalent), preferably in a numerical discipline such as economics or finance, is preferred but we will consider talented individuals with relevant experience or skills for roles.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, modelling skills are essential and required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with specific ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity.
  • Ability to comfortably interact with people in a professional and mature manner.
  • High levels of attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness, ensuring quality of client deliverables.
  • Self-motivated, tenacious and able to work with high degree of independence.
  • Excellent technology skills with superior Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, and ability to quickly learn new software applications.
  • Creativity, problem solving skills, flexibility in approach and the ability to work with members of multiple product groups at the same time. Ability to analyse complex client financial objectives.
  • Broad experience of the main product areas of SCIB, namely; Corporate Finance, GTB, FS&A, RSG and DCM is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills are required
  • Ability to comfortably interact and present to internal meetings including committees in a professional and mature manner.
  • Fluency in English is essential. Spanish / Portuguese / Others is a plus.
  • Ability to develop logical and well-reasoned argument to influence and motivate others.

This role is based in our Triton Square office in London, conveniently located within walking distance from Euston Station and Warren Street Station.
