Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
and
Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH)
needs.
The ideal candidate will be confident delivering 1:1 instruction and flexible enough to teach across a range of core subjects, including
English, Maths, and Vocational Studies
, to meet individual learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Science lessons tailored to individual student needs
Support pupils with SEND/SEMH in developing both academic skills and emotional resilience
Deliver 1:1 teaching across additional subjects (English, Maths, Vocational) where needed
Track and assess pupil progress, setting clear targets and reporting regularly to senior leaders and parents
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure holistic student development
Promote positive behaviour and implement personalised strategies as required
What We're Looking ForEssential:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Subject specialism in
Science
Experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet a range of learning needs
Willingness to teach across other subjects on a 1:1 basis
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable:
Experience in alternative provision or specialist settings
Knowledge of trauma-informed or therapeutic teaching approaches
Familiarity with EHCPs and differentiated curriculum planning
