Job Description

Introduction



We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join our dedicated team of

three Science specialists. This is an exciting opportunity for either a newly qualified teacher

(ECT) or an experienced practitioner passionate about inspiring students and delivering

outstanding science education.

Key Responsibilities



Teaching & Learning



? Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons across Key Stages.

? Inspire students to achieve their full potential and develop a love for Science.

? Integrate ICT, literacy, and numeracy into classroom teaching.

? Set clear academic targets, assess student progress, and provide timely feedback.

? Maintain discipline and create a safe, respectful classroom environment.

Curriculum & Strategy



? Deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated Science curriculum.

? Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and teaching strategies.

? Organise and lead field studies and enrichment activities.

? Monitor student progress and support academic interventions where needed.

Professional Responsibilities

? Uphold school policies including safeguarding, health & safety, GDPR, and equality.

? Serve as a form tutor, supporting students' academic and pastoral development.

? Collaborate effectively with colleagues and senior leadership.

? Fulfil duties and initiatives as directed by the Headteacher or SLT.

? Participate fully in school events and contribute to whole-school improvement.

Person Specification



Essential



? Passion for teaching and student success.

? Recent experience teaching Science in a school setting.

? Strong classroom and laboratory management skills.

? Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

? Reliable, enthusiastic, and punctual self-starter.

Desirable



? Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

? Experience with MIS systems (SIMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

? Proven track record of student progress and exam outcomes.

? Experience delivering enrichment or extracurricular activities.

Core Competencies



? Strong organisational and planning abilities.

? Ability to motivate and challenge students across varying ability levels.

? Data-driven with experience in tracking progress and setting targets.

? Team player with a flexible and proactive attitude.
