Position: Science Technician
Location: Southwark, London
Salary: \xc2\xa312.00 - \xc2\xa314.00 per hour
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Responsibilities: As a Science Technician at our mainstream secondary school, you will play a crucial role in supporting the science department and ensuring the smooth running of practical experiments and demonstrations. Your main responsibilities will include:

Lab Preparation: Assisting in the preparation and organisation of laboratory equipment and materials for science practical lessons. This involves setting up and clearing away apparatus as required.

Resource Management: Maintaining an inventory of science supplies and materials, ensuring they are well-stocked and properly stored. You will also be responsible for ordering and restocking supplies when necessary.

Health and Safety: Adhering to strict health and safety guidelines in the science department. You will ensure that all equipment is safe for use and that students are aware of safety protocols during practical sessions.

Technical Support: Providing technical support during science lessons and assisting both teachers and students with any technical issues that may arise.

Lab Maintenance: Keeping the science laboratories tidy, clean, and well-organised. You will be responsible for the general maintenance of equipment and facilities.

Assistance in Demonstrations: Supporting teachers during science experiments and demonstrations to ensure they run smoothly.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and attributes:

Experience in Labs: Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is highly desired. This could include experience in educational, research, or industrial laboratories.

Interest in Science: An enthusiasm for science and a keen interest in supporting students\' learning in this field.

Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage resources effectively.

Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially when setting up experiments.

Team Player: The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, other technicians, and staff members.

Flexibility: A willingness to adapt and take on new challenges as they arise.

Health and Safety Awareness: An understanding of health and safety protocols in laboratory environments.

Educational Background: A relevant educational background in science is advantageous but not essential.
