We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our educational team and Saturday revision programme. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tutoring or teaching, with experience working with children. This role requires a candidate to be relatable, enthusiastic and have excellent communication skills. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the cultural needs of African and Caribbean children and also have a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment that encourages student growth and development.
Responsibilities
Provide small group Ks4 science tuition.
Adapt lessons to suit needs of students.
Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
Foster a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere that encourages student participation.
Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to support students' educational journeys.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders.
Stay updated on best practices in education and incorporate innovative teaching strategies.
Requirements
Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably in a formal educational setting.
Experience working with children, including those with special educational needs, is highly desirable.
Good understanding of working inner London and the cultural needs of African and Caribbean children.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage students and parents.
A patient and empathetic approach to teaching, with the ability to adapt to various learning styles.
Relevant qualifications in education or a related field are preferred.
