Scrum Master

Based @ Crawley, Reading, Glasgow or Templecombe

Our Opportunity:

The Scrum Master is a role within the UK Digital Operations Team that forms part of the growing data and digital transformation organisation focusing on delivering the vision of the Chief Data Officer.The scrum master role is required to help enable the agile teams to drive positive business outcomes (Faster, Safer and Happier). The scrum master will have a focus on 2-3 digital operations squads, helping enable delivery of data and digital products across Thales UK.

What the role has to offer:

  • Ensure that Scrum teams are working effectively towards business objectives being delivered with high quality standards
  • Confidently facilitate Scrum rituals (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives) & workshops enabling teams to deliver value
  • Working closely with the Product Owner and the development team, help them create and maintain the product backlog, refine requirements and prioritise user stories
  • Ensuring the team understands Agile/Scrum principles and values
  • Ensuring the team adhere to the Scrum framework and maintain the JIRA Scrum board
  • Developing and nurturing group dynamics and fostering the self-organization Serving as a mirror to the team, reflecting agile values, reminding commitments, helping to improve
  • Act as a servant leader to several teams, leading by example
  • Motivate teams to succeed
  • Help to identify and remove impediments & blockers.
  • Protect teams from internal and external influencers
  • Assist in preventing & resolving conflict across teams
  • Assist with JIRA administration and training
  • Aid teams to effectively identify, plan and implement successful outcomes of work packages and projects
  • Ensure teams capture and present metrics (Velocity, Stories complete, sprint goals)
  • Assistin shaping the Organisations Agile journey

About you:
  • A working knowledge of Agile and specifically the Scrum framework
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication
  • Ability to confidently present and lead a group
  • Excellent skill level in common office tools (MS office suite etc).
  • Good all round knowledge of business structures and processes.
  • Broad IT Knowledge (IS strategy, infrastructure, architecture, security and service management)
  • Design to implementation methodologies, preferably gained through practical experience.
  • Familiarity with application delivery methods. Experience with e-commerce, Web architecture, and Internet/intranet development and implementation is a plus.
  • Familiarity of working within a DataOps/DevOps environment
  • Project management experience
