Sea Freight Operator

to join their expanding team in Redditch.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic operations department handling full-cycle sea freight logistics--managing both imports and exports while delivering exceptional service to clients around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end sea freight shipments, from booking to final delivery Coordinate both import and export operations, ensuring timely and compliant processing Prepare and maintain shipment files and relevant documentation, including Bills of Lading and customs paperwork Process customs entries via systems such as CDS or NES Monitor shipment progress, keeping clients informed of any changes or delays Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, and hauliers to coordinate transport and resolve issues Collaborate with the sales team to support quotations and service delivery Maximise profitability through effective supplier negotiation and cost control Ensure all jobs are invoiced accurately and promptly upon completion

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience in sea freight forwarding (import/export operations essential) Strong understanding of UK and international customs procedures Proficiency with freight forwarding and customs software (e.g. MULTIFREIGHT, CDS/NES) Excellent communication and customer service skills Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines Positive, proactive approach with a strong attention to detail Team player with a willingness to support across departments when needed
