Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced seamstress to join our team. You will be responsible for sewing and altering garments to a high standard, with a focus on bridal and occasionwear. This is a hands-on, client-facing role that requires precision, professionalism, and a passion for quality craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

Perform detailed garment alterations: hemming, taking in/letting out seams, replacing zippers or buttons Alter and finish bridal gowns, occasionwear, and general clothing Measure clients for fittings and advise on suitable alterations Follow patterns and instructions to create or modify garments Use sewing machines, overlockers (sergers), and hand stitching as needed Inspect completed garments for quality and accuracy Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area Occasionally assist with handmade dress production
Requirements

Proven experience as a seamstress or machinist (minimum 2 years) Skilled in bridalwear and formalwear alterations Proficient with domestic and industrial sewing machines and tools Strong knowledge of fabrics and garment construction Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity High attention to detail and pride in precision workmanship Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong time management skills to meet deadlines Excellent communication and customer service skills Available to work Tuesday to Saturday, 9 am - 5 pm Appointment-only studio - discretion and professionalism are essential
Preferred Skills

Experience in a workshop or production environment Familiarity with bespoke dressmaking and pattern use
