Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress/Tailor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for garment construction and alteration, demonstrating expertise in sewing techniques and an eye for detail. As a Seamstress/Tailor, you will be responsible for creating, altering, and repairing garments to meet the specific needs of our clients, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Measure clients accurately to determine the correct fit for garments. Cut fabric according to patterns or specifications, ensuring precision in all measurements. Sew garments using various sewing machines and hand-stitching techniques. Alter existing garments to improve fit or style as per client requests. Repair damaged clothing items, including patching holes and replacing zippers. Maintain an organised workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are kept in good condition. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide expert advice on fabric choices and styles. Keep up-to-date with current fashion trends and tailoring techniques to enhance skills.

Experience

Proven experience as a Seamstress/Tailor or in a similar role within the fashion industry is highly desirable. Proficiency in using sewing machines, overlockers, and other tailoring equipment. Strong knowledge of different fabrics and their properties. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.00-13.54 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 37.5 per week
