WHAT TO EXPECT

Project Engineer role is for individual who will be working in Seating Team, focusing on seat core activities (of cycle) within Seating technical centre.

Seating Project Engineer:

  • Will be point of contact for wider team and customers (internal/external) regarding seating business.
Will be working for Group Leader (GL) on all aspects of seat responsibilities such as Bill Of Design / Bill of Process / Standards updates / Requirements updates / DFMEA / AIMS / PR-AIMS / quality resolution / Future strategies and Road maps / etc .

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Assist and contribute to the generation of targets and verification methods that are driven by Customer, Function Requirements and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
  • Contribute to the delivery of systems or components developed off cycle onto all programmes, in line with the Product Creation & Delivery System and Agile methodology.
  • Work with Technical Specialists, Subject Matter Experts and other lead engineers on Attribute and Functional Forward Strategies, including new Function Definition and Failure Mode Avoidance.
WHAT YOU NEED
  • Engineering experience working on automotive projects specifically interior or seating.
  • Relevant experience of delivering automotive seating components or systems with Tier 1/2/3 supplier.
  • Strong technical individual with ability to check and release component drawings
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
  • Experience in Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA) & Design Review Based of Failure Mode (DRBFM).
  • Experience in CATIA V5/V6/3Dx including working with and/or setting up kinematic models.
  • Understanding of project planning and delivery to plan.
  • Experience in seating trims, plastics, head restraint, comfort systems, climate systems, restraint systems, and other seating system components/attributes
