We are seeking a skilled and experienced Second Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the head chef in preparing high-quality dishes, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring exceptional food service. The Second Chef will oversee food preparation, supervise kitchen staff, and maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including banquet and catering menus, ensuring consistency and excellence
Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, providing leadership and guidance to ensure efficient operations
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste
Oversee food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in compliance with health regulations
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
Support kitchen management in shift management, scheduling, and operational tasks
Requirements
Proven experience in fine dining, banquet cooking, or catering environments with strong culinary skills
Supervising or team management experience within a kitchen setting
Background in dietary department work or food production is preferred
Knowledge of inventory management, food safety standards, and kitchen operations
Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent communication skills
Experience with menu planning, food handling, and catering services
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service hours
Strong understanding of hospitality industry standards and restaurant management practices
Culinary certification or relevant hospitality training is a plus
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed for shift management duties

Pay: 12.50-14.50 per hour
