Job Title: Second Chef

Location: The Old Barn Marton SK11 9HF

Working Hours: 37.5 hours - Wednesday to Sunday, 8:00AM - 3:30PM

Includes weekend working but no evening work and no split shifts.

Salary: 13-13.50 per hour depending on experience.

Start Date: 13th August 2025

We are a warm, welcoming and busy cafe and coffee lounge providing customers with freshly made quality food, excellent coffee, and friendly service. We are now seeking a reliable and energetic permanent full time Second Chef to join our small kitchen team and help create quality food for every customer.

Role Overview

As Second Chef, you will support the Head Chef in the operation of all areas of food production and cleaning in the kitchen. You will work as part of a small team under the guidance of the Head Chef and be responsible for the preparation of our fresh ingredients for our full menu range.

Key Responsibilities

prepare fresh ingredients. prepare hot and cold food orders to order. monitor stock levels and contribute towards the ordering process. work efficiently to ensure low levels of waste. carry out cleaning of equipment and working areas to the highest food hygiene standards close down kitchen each day including some preparation for the next day
Requirements

Previous experience in cafe or restaurant kitchens Passion for good quality fresh produce and food Understanding of food hygiene requirements Good food presentation skills Excellent communication skills great teamwork and hardworking Ability to work weekends (with Mondays and Tuesdays off)
. Ability to work well and efficiently under pressure.
