The Kitchen Team



Run by our internationally renowned Head Chef, the Uncle Henry's kitchen and bakery team is a tightknit group of dedicated people who work with a passion for consistently good high quality food for our 120 cover cafe and busy conference and events programme.

We believe in work life balance and you would be joining a team that works hard during the day's shift but then we leave at 5pm and go home - no midnight finishes no late night service.

Benefits

8.30 - 5pm shift pattern - the cafe and kitchen is open 7 days a week, but we look always to work no more than two planned weekend shifts per 4 weeks.

Job Summary



We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and experience in a restaurant environment. As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation, and managing kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Your creativity and leadership will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for excellence in hospitality.

Responsibilities


- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service.
- Assist in training the kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
- Handle any customer feedback or concerns regarding food quality or presentation.

Requirements


- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Excellent team management abilities, with experience supervising kitchen staff.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food preparation.
- Creative mindset with a passion for developing new dishes and enhancing menu offerings.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and customers.
