Job Overview

Housman Court is a 30 bedded residential dementia care home located in the heart of Bromsgrove.

We currently have a vacancy for a second cook working 30 hours per week with the option of overtime covering holiday leave.

Good knowledge of food safety. Prepare ingredients and cook meals according to specified recipes and standards Assist with food presentation to ensure dishes are visually appealing Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management Support team members during busy service periods to ensure smooth operation Follow all health and safety guidelines to uphold hygiene standards Assist with meal preparation for special events

Requirements

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or a care home environment is preferred Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Ability to work efficiently under pressure Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team Passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new techniques Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evening

Shifts will be a mixture of early shift 7-230 , double shifts 700-1830 . You will be required to work alternative weekends following a 2 week rolling rota.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week

Work Location: In person
