About the Role





The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) is seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Secondary Teacher Mentor (In-Service) to play a pivotal role in supporting the professional growth of Secondary Teacher Education Programme (STEP) teachers, mentors, and Academic Directors across the global Ismaili community.



Working within the Department of Education and reporting to the Co-Head of Secondary Teacher Education, the postholder will design, implement, and evaluate innovative in-service teacher development initiatives aligned with the ITREB Teacher Education and Student Learning (TESL) framework. This will include leading capacity-building projects, designing professional learning programmes, and fostering global networks of reflective practice and mentorship excellence.



This role offers the chance to contribute to a global vision for educational excellence by supporting teachers and leaders who are shaping the future of secondary religious education. You will collaborate with international colleagues, contribute to academic scholarship, and help bridge pre-service and in-service teacher development in alignment with the IIS's mission and values.


What We're Looking For




A master's degree in education, Islamic Studies/Muslim Societies, or a related discipline (PhD desirable). Proven experience in teacher education, mentorship training, and professional development. Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment, and reflective teaching practices. Experience working across diverse cultural or international educational contexts. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a collaborative and inclusive approach. Ability to design and deliver engaging, high-impact training--both in-person and online.
