Overview

We are seeking a reliable, committed Secondary English tutor. If you are confident in delivering KS3 -KS4 English Language and Literature, you'll fit in well here.

This role suits someone who values consistency, preparation and professionalism, and who enjoys helping students build confidence and measurable progress in English.

Please note this is NOT a hybrid position, do not apply if you are offering online tutoring

Responsibilities

Teaching small groups (max 5 learners) using our structured programmes Supporting learners aged 11-16 with English, reading, writing and spelling Giving clear feedback to help learners grow week after week Following set lesson plans - no endless marking or planning Foster a calm, positive, supportive and encouraging environment that promotes confidence and motivation in learners Using our Kip McGrath software (full training provided) Maintain punctuality and professionalism during all tutoring sessions

Skills

Strong knowledge of KS3/KS4 English language and English Literature Experience working with learners (school, tutoring, mentoring, etc.) Clear communicator, patient, reliable Someone who takes pride in helping children build confidence Ability to adapt teaching strategies to suit diverse learning styles and abilities Ability to work evenings and /or Saturdays Organised with the ability to plan lessons and manage time efficiently

Teaching qualification is essential
