Arrange and support monthly Unit Management Team (UMT) and Annual General Meetings (AGM).
Record and circulate accurate meeting minutes and action points.
Maintain up-to-date unit records, correspondence, and key documentation.
Support the Chair in ensuring compliance with the Sea Cadet Standard Constitution and Charity Commission guidance.
Manage communication between trustees, staff, and external contacts.
Assist in maintaining official records such as insurance, policies, and safeguarding documentation.
Provide administrative support for governance, fundraising, and community engagement activities as needed.
Skills & Qualities
Good organisational and written communication skills.
Confident with email, Microsoft Word, and document management.
Reliable, discreet, and able to work as part of a small team.
Keen eye for detail and a methodical approach.
No formal secretarial qualification required -- training and support provided.
Time Commitment
Approximately 2-4 hours per week (mostly flexible).
Attendance at monthly UMT meetings (usually one evening per month) plus occasional events or activities.

No prior cadet or military experience required -- just enthusiasm and community spirit.
