Are you ready to lead a critical work package on one of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure projects?

Our client, Taylor Woodrow, a leading infrastructure and civil engineering specialist, is seeking a Section Manager to oversee the Structural Steel work package at the HS2 Old Oak Common site, part of the BBVS Joint Venture.

The successful candidate will manage a small team, liaise with subcontractors and stakeholders, and ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of this key package of works.

Key Duties:



Ensure the safe, healthy, and environmentally sound delivery of all works within the package. Day-to-day management of the package, leading a team of two Assistant Project Managers (APMs). Collaborate with the package design management team and subcontractor to deliver the subcontract design portion of the works. Work with the package Quantity Surveyor (QS) to issue communications and manage subcontractor contracts. Manage the package of works, tracking subcontractor deliverables and Activity Readiness certification. Oversee documentation through the approval process and liaise with the wider BBVS team. Review subcontractor performance and propose improvement opportunities. Resolve escalated issues and clashes in day-to-day management with subcontractors. Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of works progress, including operatives and plant activity on site.

Person Specification / Experience:



Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Proven experience in structural steel work, roofing, cladding, and glazing scopes. Experience with Network Rail and TfL interfaces is advantageous. Experience managing interfaces with Thames Water (or other water industry companies) and other utility providers. Familiarity with NEC3 contracts.
