About the role

------------------

Imperial College London is launching a major transformation of its Security Access Control System (SACS), that will modernise and future-proof Imperial's physical and digital access infrastructure. This is a high-profile, cross-functional initiative that plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, accessibility, and operational excellence of our campuses.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead this transformation, overseeing a programme with an initial capital investment of 3 million in 2025/26 and a total estimated value of 12 million over five years.

What you would be doing

---------------------------

In this role, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of Imperial's Security Access Control System (SACS) Transformation Programme. You'll manage the transition from short-term tactical upgrades to a full-scale transformation, coordinating across internal teams such as Property, ICT, and Security, as well as with external suppliers and consultants.

A key part of your role will be establishing and managing governance structures, acting as the central point of contact for senior stakeholders, and reporting to leadership committees. You'll oversee the procurement and onboarding of a new Value-Added Reseller (VAR) and ensure the successful delivery of software and firmware upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and physical hardware replacements.

What we are looking for

---------------------------

We're looking for someone who can bring:

A degree or equivalent professional experience, plus recognised project/programme management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP). Proven experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary transformation programmes in large organisations. Experience with physical and digital infrastructure projects, ideally in security or access control. Strong stakeholder engagement and governance experience, including reporting to senior leadership. Excellent project management, risk management, and budget control skills. A collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure. High digital literacy and familiarity with project management tools.

Experience in higher education or similarly complex institutional environments is highly desirable.

What we can offer you

-------------------------

The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to use science for humanity. Benefit from a sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 39 days' annual leave and generous pension schemes). Access to a range of workplace benefits including a flexible working policy from day one, generous family leave packages, on-site leisure facilities and cycle-to-work scheme. Interest-free season ticket loan schemes for travel. Be part of a diverse, inclusive and collaborative work culture with various staff networks and resources to support your personal and professional wellbeing.
