The Security Liaison team provide wide-ranging high level protective security support and advice to the Royal Household.


Joining this well-established and dedicated team, you'll lead our readiness for the Terrorism Protection of Premises legislation, carrying out site assessments and advising on proportionate mitigations to ensure The Royal Household meets its protective security and legislative obligations across all sites.

Key responsibilities



Managing your own portfolio of sites, you'll undertake comprehensive physical, technical and procedural security assessments, producing clear and pragmatic recommendations for the Security leadership team. Acting as the subject matter expert for the Terrorism Protection of Premises Bill, you'll design assessment templates and tools to capture consistent and auditable information from site visits. You'll build strong, collaborative relationships across organisation and with key external partners including police, the Home Office, NPSA, local authorities, landowners, event organisers and commercial partners. Representing The Royal Household at both internal and external meetings, you'll provide security briefings and updates to a wide range of stakeholders, securing agreement on progress and next steps. Working with subject matter experts and our Events Security Hub, you'll support the implementation of proportionate and effective measures, aligned to operational needs. You'll also ensure a robust audit trail of assessments, recommendations and decisions is maintained, monitor compliance where responsibilities are shared, and remain up to date with developments in physical and technical security.

About you



Practical knowledge of national and international security threats, with proven experience applying physical and technical security measures in sensitive or high-security environments. A relevant security qualification (industry, police or military) and demonstrable expertise in site and event security assessments. In-depth understanding of the Terrorism Protection of Premises legislation and its implications for multi-site organisations. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical security data and deliver clear, risk-based recommendations. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to influence and build trust across police, government, contractors and senior audiences. Flexible and proactive, able to make sound judgement and adapt to changing circumstances in a busy environment. Highly organised and structured in approach, , able to manage multiple work streams independently while maintaining attention to detail and effective record-keeping.
