Job Summary



Pointer Ltd. are recruiting for a skilled and motivated Security Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of alarm systems according to technical designs and industry standards. You will also perform regular maintenance and inspections, troubleshoot system faults, and provide solutions to prevent false or unwanted alarms.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining system performance, and fostering strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors

Key Responsibilities:



Install, test, and commission alarm and security systems, such as; intruder, access control, fire and IP CCTV, according to technical designs and industry standards. Perform routine inspections and planned maintenance activities to ensure optimal functionality of security alarm systems. Fault-find, troubleshoot, and repair system malfunctions, identifying and addressing causes of false or unwanted alarms. Provide expert technical training and support to clients and internal team members, enhancing knowledge and system performance. Ensure compliance with security industry standards and codes, guaranteeing all systems are installed and maintained to meet legal and regulatory requirements. Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring that all installations and maintenance are completed within agreed time and financial constraints. Complete and submit all necessary documentation, reports, and system updates in a timely manner, adhering to company protocols.

Required Experience & Qualifications



At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in the security industry is preferred, though relevant experience in similar fields may also be considered. In-depth technical expertise in security systems and designs. Good understanding of health and safety practices, including risk assessments and method statements. Relevant electrical installation training or qualification. Knowledge of Honeywell, Siemens, and Hochiki fire alarm systems (training provided for the successful candidate). Current full driving license. Must be eligible to work in the UK.
