Role
The Installation Engineer (IE) will be part of a team, which as a group will perform the duties to install Security Systems at customer's premises. Generally, this role is to install any orders that the company may receive and requires a great deal of initiative and autonomy. Flexibility is essential in adapting to future changes within the company and fluctuations within the workload.
Responsibilities
The Installation Engineer (IE) will be allocated projects by the Project Manager (PM).
The IE will cover regions along the M4 corridor and south from there.
They will be responsible, together, for the planning, scheduling, installation, and handover of the project.
On receipt of a site file the IE, with the PM, will review the project to ensure that they are conversant with any particular contract conditions. They will also ensure that the equipment specified constitutes a working and suitable system in liaison with the Salesman and the Customer and, where necessary, resolve any queries at this stage.
Any predetermined program of works and delivery schedule will be noted and actioned. Any changes will, proactively, be notified to the customer and the Salesperson.
The IE shall highlight any issues they feel may affect the profitability of any projects they are working on.
The IE will monitor the progress of their work at all times and will advise the PM of any changes through regular 'Project Reviews'.
The IE will ensure that the client or end user training on the use of their system is arranged. This could entail providing basic training or arranging training with another department.
The IE will liaise with the Service Department to handover each installation and make them aware of important information and features of the system.
The IE will feedback any relevant information to ensure problems encountered are dealt with so as not to reoccur and areas where installations have gone particularly well are also highlighted.
