We are seeking a professional and experienced Security Manager to oversee the delivery of high-quality security services across our operations. The Security Manager will be responsible for leading a team of security officers, ensuring compliance with UK legislation, company policies, and industry best practices. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and client management skills, as well as the ability to implement effective security strategies that protect people, property, and assets.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, supervise, and support a team of security officers, including recruitment, training, performance monitoring, and staff development.
Prepare and conduct approaches to new and existing clients, including assisting with tenders, site visits, and participating in client presentations.
Ensure appropriate actions are taken to reduce risk, prevent loss, and achieve company targets.
Develop, implement, and review site-specific security procedures in compliance with UK law, SIA (Security Industry Authority) regulations, and health & safety requirements.
Conduct risk assessments and recommend effective security solutions.
Liaise with clients, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships and ensure service excellence.
Prepare and maintain accurate records, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
Ensure the company's security operations meet contractual, legal, and insurance requirements.
Manage emergency response procedures and coordinate incident investigations.
Monitor security technology (CCTV, access control, alarm systems) and ensure they are properly maintained and used effectively.
Drive continuous improvement and best practices across the security function.
Essential Requirements
Valid SIA licence (Door Supervisor/Close Protection or Security Guarding).
Proven experience in a security management or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of UK security legislation, data protection laws (GDPR), and health & safety regulations.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop security strategies.
Strong communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills.
IT literacy (Microsoft Office and security software systems).
Ability to remain calm under pressure and make effective decisions in emergencies.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and respond to out-of-hours incidents as required.
Eligible to work in the UK.
Desirable Skills
First Aid at Work certificate.
Experience managing security across multiple sites or large-scale contracts.
Knowledge of tender processes and business development.
