Security Officer/Porter South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust Lambeth Hospital, 108 Landor Road, SW99NU Working 7.5 hour or 12 hour shifts between the hours of 07:00 \xe2\x80\x93 20.00 Band 2 \xc2\xa314.00 per hour Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday \xc2\xa318.43 per hour Saturdays & \xc2\xa323.24 per hour Sundays About the Trust: South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust provides a wide range of services to nearly two million people locally. About the role: We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic Security Officer/Porter to join our team at Lambeth Hospital working as part of a team to perform Porter and Security duties. Your responsibilities will include communicating with patients, staff and visitors and you liaising with contractor representatives, other estates professionals and clinical representatives, estates officers and team leaders, porters and security staff. You will also be responsible for supervising other Security Officers/Porters whilst you are on shift. Key responsibilities include: Emergency response \xc2\xb7 Work independently within established parameters and respond to incidents and issues that arise, without precedent and take command of a situation outside normal working hours if for whatever reason relevant responsible persons are not contactable. \xc2\xb7 Coordinate 24 hr Fire and Emergency response via the Ascom system, taking action in line with set policies and procedures. \xc2\xb7 Monitor the fire alarm panel, BOLD system and security alarm panels and provide a fast and appropriate response to all emergency, security and fire alarms, in accordance with site and Trust policies \xc2\xb7 Liaise with Emergency Services as necessary, ensuring that appropriate action is taken for untoward events and an accurate record kept. Security duties \xc2\xb7 You will be responsible for supervising other Security Officers/Porters on shift whilst you are working. \xc2\xb7 Initial contact regarding reports of crime, ensuring that appropriate procedures are followed, gathering information and using judgment and appropriate questioning to obtain relevant information to ensure investigations can be completed successfully. \xc2\xb7 Record all adverse incidents on the Trust Datix software. \xc2\xb7 Check CCTV coverage, investigating any security breaches appropriately, reporting and recording image data and securing data in accordance with department procedures, recognising and adhering to the Data Protection Act and all Trust policies concerning privacy, confidentiality and information governance. \xc2\xb7 Undertake patrols and secure buildings, set security alarms across the site as required. \xc2\xb7 Administer the issuing and receipt of all in-house system bleeps/alarm handsets. \xc2\xb7 Manage keys, obtaining signatures for the issuing of authorized keys, fobs and passes in line with procedural requirements. You\xe2\x80\x99ll have the following skills/experience: \xc2\xb7 Must have an SIA Licence. \xc2\xb7 Must have supervisory experience. \xc2\xb7 Have experience of night security, patrols and using response systems. \xc2\xb7 Have CCTV Experience. \xc2\xb7 Working in an NHS/healthcare environment desirable but not essential.
