Job Description

Experienced Security Officer required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, shifts will be day or night shifts seven days per week on a rotational basis and scheduled in advance.

DS SIA security badge is essential and CCTV badge would be preferred but is not essential.

Duties

Monitor premises using CCTV systems and other surveillance equipment to identify suspicious activity or security breaches. Conduct regular patrols of the site to deter theft, vandalism, or unauthorised access. Implement loss prevention strategies by observing and reporting unusual behaviours or potential threats. Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents, including providing first aid when necessary. Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and security checks for record-keeping purposes. Enforce access control procedures by verifying identification and authorisation of visitors and staff. Collaborate with local authorities or emergency services during critical incidents or investigations. Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors with directions or inquiries while maintaining security protocols.

Skills

Proven experience in surveillance, CCTV operation, or loss prevention is highly desirable. Knowledge of security procedures and protocols, including emergency response and first aid certification. Strong observational skills with the ability to identify potential security threats swiftly. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting incidents clearly and professionally. Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively during emergencies. Physically fit with the capacity to patrol large areas on foot for extended periods. Discretion and integrity in handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
