Openfield is proud to be Britain's only national grain marketing and arable inputs co-operative. We have a turnover of 505m and are owned by over 4,000 farmers and we also work with thousands of other farmers to supply some of the biggest and most well-known brands in the country. Openfield proudly supports British grain for British food and drink.

We currently have a great opportunity to join Openfield as Seed Production Operator on a full-time basis based in Colsterworth.

The role will involve operating the Intakes and Seed Cleaning Lines, ensuring the product meets pre-determined quality standards. Operating the seed treatment lines, Packing and Loading of the treated seeds, some plant maintenance and repairs. Full training will be provided across all aspects of seed processing, treating, storage, packing and despatch.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

An understanding of machinery with engineering experience preferred, but not essential. Strong interpersonal & communication skills. A Positive work ethic. Able to adapt and demonstrate flexibility in the role, in line with the fluctuating demands of our seasonal business. Proficient computer skills A counterbalance forklift truck licence would be desirable.(Training can be provided) PA1 and PA11 chemical pesticide knowledge (Training can be provided) A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. An understanding of machinery and some basic engineering skills as well.
This role also offers a clear path for progression within our growing team.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 25,000.00-29,000.00 per year
