We are seeking a self employed experienced , skilled and reliable Installer to join our subcontracted contractor network.
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing a variety of security and fire doors , ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in carpentry trades to contribute to diverse projects, from residential to commercial sites.
The Installer will work closely with site managers to deliver high-quality results efficiently.
Duties
Install doors , frames , furniture according to project specifications and schematics
Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively during installation processes
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure precise installation
Ensure all installations comply with relevant safety regulations and building codes
Maintain a clean and organised work site, including the safe handling and disposal of materials
Installing new fire-rated and security door sets to current regulations
Completing remedial works to allow install
Fitting ironmongery, intumescent seals, closers, glazing, and accessories
Ensuring all work meets fire-safety compliance standards
Liaising with office team to complete job notes and photographic evidence
Providing a high-quality, professional service to clients and site managers
Working independently - self employed
Requirements
Proven experience in construction trades as fire door installation , carpentry is essential
Must be able to problem solve and work on own initiative
Certified to install Fire Doors
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in installation tasks
Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately
Knowledge of construction safety standards and protocols
Physical fitness to perform manual labour including lifting heavy doors is essential
Valid UK driving licence and vehicle
Must have own tools
Valid to work in the UK and security checked
Have own labour to call upon if required
