Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and professional Trade Plate Driver to collect and deliver vehicles between dealerships, auctions, manufacturers, and customers' premises. The successful candidate will ensure vehicles are transported safely, legally, and on time while providing a high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Collect and deliver vehicles using trade plates in accordance with road traffic laws Conduct basic vehicle checks before and after each journey (fuel, mileage, damage) Accurately complete delivery paperwork, inspection reports, and proof of delivery Plan routes efficiently to meet agreed delivery schedules Maintain communication with the transport office or clients regarding delays or issues Ensure vehicles are kept clean, secure, and undamaged during transit Represent the company professionally at all times Comply with all health and safety and legal requirements

Requirements

Full UK driving licence (clean or with minimal points) Minimum age usually 25 (for insurance purposes) Proven driving experience and confidence driving a wide range of vehicles (manual and automatic) Good knowledge of UK road networks and traffic regulations Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Good communication and customer service skills Smartphone required for job management apps and communication Trade plate driving experience preferred

Working Conditions

Self-employed or employed role (depending on company structure) Nationwide travel may be required Early starts, long days, or overnight stays may occasionally be required Pay typically per job, per mile, or daily rate
