Job Description

We are a well-established

garden machinery and small agricultural equipment business

in Crowborough, East Sussex, and we're looking for a

skilled, self-employed mechanic

to support our workshop with

servicing, diagnostics, and repairs

on a wide range of equipment.

Workload varies seasonally, with consistent year-round demand. Occasional driving or assisting with deliveries/collections may be available if it suits your skills and schedule, in line with our separate self-employed driver role.

This role would suit someone looking for

flexible part-time style work

with weekly hours - but as it's self-employed, it's not a full/part-time job.

The Role

Servicing and repairing

garden machinery

(mowers, ride-on tractors, strimmers, hedge cutters, chainsaws, etc.). Diagnostics and repairs on

small plant

(e.g., compact construction equipment). Repairs and maintenance on

light agricultural machinery

. Occasional on-site repairs where required. Optional:

help with deliveries/collections

using a provided company van (not essential).

What We're Looking For

Strong mechanical background -- ideally in garden machinery, small engines, agricultural equipment, plant, engineering, or similar. Ability to diagnose faults and work independently to a high standard. Good communication with customers when needed. Reliable, organised, and able to manage your own workload. Physically able to handle garden machinery safely. Experience with delivery driving is highly desirable would be an advantage, but not essential. Ideally local to Crowborough or surrounding areas Self-employed status (you'll invoice us for work undertaken).
