We are seeking a proactive and resilient SEMH Behaviour Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Direct Support:
Work directly with students to address their behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
Develop and Implement Strategies:
Create and execute individualized behaviour support plans tailored to each student's needs.
Collaborate with Staff:
Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to create a consistent and supportive environment.
Monitor Progress:
Track and assess the effectiveness of behaviour support plans, adjusting strategies as needed.
Promote Positive Behaviour:
Encourage and model positive behaviour, helping students to develop coping and social skills.
Crisis Intervention:
Respond promptly and effectively to behavioural crises, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
Qualifications and Skills
Proactive Attitude:
Ability to anticipate needs and take initiative in addressing them.
Team Player:
Strong collaborative skills and a willingness to support colleagues.
Resilience:
Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
