Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
Assist the class teacher in managing behaviour and promoting positive social interactions.
Implement personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies.
Foster a safe, nurturing environment for students to thrive both academically and emotionally.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCOs.
Work collaboratively with external agencies, therapists, and parents/carers when required.
Encourage the development of pupils' self-esteem, independence, and resilience.
Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH or similar SEND needs.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Patience, resilience, and a positive, proactive attitude.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Psychology degree, or similar) are desirable but not essential.
A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
