Job Description

As a Semi-Senior Accountant in practice, you will be responsible for providing accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients. You will support the Senior Accountants and Managers in delivering a high standard of service while gaining exposure to a range of tasks across bookkeeping, financial reporting, VAT, and tax compliance. Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of Financial Statements: Assist in the preparation of financial statements for clients in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or UK GAAP). Bookkeeping: Perform bookkeeping tasks for clients, including maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring transactions are recorded in compliance with relevant standards. VAT Returns: Prepare VAT returns and assist clients with VAT compliance matters. Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation of corporate and personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws. Client Liaison: Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing queries and providing assistance with financial matters. Audit Support: Assist with the audit process, including preparing audit files and supporting senior staff in the audit of financial statements. Ad hoc duties: Assist with any ad hoc accounting, bookkeeping, or tax-related tasks as needed.
Key Skills & Qualifications:

Part-qualified accountant (AAT/ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with an experience in a practice environment. Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations. Experience with bookkeeping software and accounting systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage). Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with clients and provide excellent service. Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in audit is desirable but not essential. Working knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Kashflow and Quickbooks. Training and guidance will be provided if you are unfamiliar with a product Experience working with a range of industries and clients.
