Job Description
A forward-thinking accountancy practice just outside Ware is seeking a motivated Semi-Senior Accountant. Role Responsibilities:
Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. Compile working papers and ensure accurate and complete supporting documentation. Assist clients with day-to-day accounts and tax queries. Prepare and submit VAT returns and review bookkeeping records. Support management accounts preparation as required. Help clients transition to digital accounting software and comply with Making Tax Digital (MTD) regulations. Provide occasional assistance with payroll processing.
Personal Requirements:
Experience working in an accountancy practice environment. AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent). Confident in preparing accounts and VAT returns with solid bookkeeping knowledge. Familiar with cloud-based accounting systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, IRIS). Organised, proactive, and able to manage workload independently. Strong communicator and team player.
