We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Audit and Accounts team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is results-driven, embraces responsibility, and is eager to grow professionally through continuous self-improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and completion using standard audit programs
Prepare company accounts in line with firm policies and procedures
Understand client needs and offer initial solutions to their challenges
Conduct specialist audits (e.g., Solicitors Accounts Rules, charities)
Perform ad-hoc assignments such as due diligence and systems reviews
Prepare corporation tax computations
Deliver work efficiently, within budget and deadlines
Mentor and support junior team members
Research and analyse financial statements and audit-related matters
Maintain confidentiality and build strong professional relationships with clients
Collaborate with client management to gather information, resolve issues, and suggest improvements
Manage assignments and report progress to audit managers or partners
Ideal Candidate Profile:
ACA or ACCA part-qualified with experience in an accountancy practice
Exposure to Audit and Accounts work.
Background in a multi-partner firm with SME client base.
Strong under pressure with excellent analytical and communication skills
Solid technical knowledge and a team-oriented mindset
Self-motivated, organised, and capable of multitasking
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Sage, Xero, and other accounting software (CCH experience is a plus)
Ideally a driver with access to a car
Up-to-date with current legislation
Committed to delivering outstanding client service
Friendly, confident, and able to build rapport quickly
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
