Semi Senior, Oursourced Finance - Taunton or Yeovil
The role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced accountant to join our outsourced finance team. Whether you come from a practice or industry background, we want to hear from you.
In this role, you will take full responsibility for managing a small portfolio of clients ranging from owner managed businesses to UK subsidiaries of overseas entities. You'll be their main point of contact, overseeing the day to day bookkeeping, VAT and management accounting service. You'll also play a key role in improving their financial systems, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
Bookkeeping for a range of clients using cloud based software (e.g. Xero, Quickbooks)
Creating supplier payment runs
Completion and submission of VAT returns
Supporting senior team members with ad hoc client work
Liaising directly with clients
Producing routine monthly or quarterly management accounts and reconciliations
The role will be a blend of office based work and onsite visits to clients. While we would prefer the successful candidate to be based at our Taunton or Yeovil office, we can discuss some flexibility in this.
What we need from you
Ideally you will:
Be AAT qualified or qualified by experience
Have a minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience
Have double entry bookkeeping knowledge, and confidence using software such as Xero
Have excellent knowledge of UK VAT
Have financial reporting experience, in either statutory accounts or management reporting
Be a confident and collaborative team player who is comfortable working in different environments
Show excellent people skills and the ability to manage relationships with clients
Have self-motivation and a strong work ethic
Be detail oriented with a proactive and problem-solving mind
